Live Plants
What size will my plant be when it arrives?
Plant sizes vary by variety and are listed on each individual product page. You’ll often see sizes shown as #1, #2 or #3 containers. These numbers are commonly used in the nursery industry to describe approximate container size and plant maturity. They don't represent an exact gallon measurement, but the comparisons below can help give you an idea of what to expect.
#1 Container — Similar in size to what you may think of as a 1-gallon pot. Common for younger perennials and grasses, as well as some shrubs.
#2 Container — Similar in size to a 2-gallon pot. Often used for larger perennials and is the starting size for many shrubs. Plants in this size generally have a more established root system and can provide a little more immediate presence in the garden.
#3 Container — Similar in size to a 3-gallon pot. Most commonly used for more mature shrubs and smaller ornamental trees, although some perennials are also offered in this size. These more established plants can provide greater impact in the landscape sooner.
What will my plant(s) look like when they arrive?
Because plants are living things, their appearance will vary depending on the variety, time of year, and where they are in their natural growing cycle. Your plant may arrive actively growing, flowering, recently trimmed, or dormant depending on the season.
The photos on our website are intended to show what the plant can look like as it grows and matures, and may not represent exactly how your plant will look when it arrives. Size, fullness, foliage, blooms, and overall appearance will naturally vary from plant to plant.
Don't be concerned if your new plant looks a little different from the photos — that's part of receiving a living plant. With the proper planting conditions and care, it will have the opportunity to settle in and continue growing in its new home.
Are my plants ready to plant when they arrive?
Yes. Your plants can be planted after they arrive, provided the weather and planting conditions in your area are appropriate. We recommend unpacking your plants as soon as possible, checking the soil moisture, and giving them a little time to adjust after their journey before planting.
Before planting, be sure to consider the individual plant's needs, including sunlight, soil, spacing, and your local growing conditions.
From Our Farm
What does “From Our Farm” mean at Lavender Frog Farm & Garden?
When we say “From Our Farm,” we mean something was grown, made, or created right here at Lavender Frog Farm & Garden in East Hampton, Connecticut. Some products begin right in our gardens, while others are made here on the farm using thoughtfully chosen ingredients and materials.
For everything we grow ourselves, we keep our growing practices simple — sunshine, water, healthy soil and nothing else.
Are farm products available year-round?
Not always. Many of our farm products are seasonal and depend on what is growing, being harvested, or being made at Lavender Frog Farm & Garden throughout the year. Availability will change with the seasons, and some items may only be offered for a limited time.
As our farm continues to grow, so will what we’re able to offer. Check back often or follow us on social media for the latest products and seasonal availability.

Returns & Order Support
What if my live plant arrives damaged or unhealthy?
We take great care to make sure your plants are prepared for their journey, but we understand that occasionally a plant may not arrive as expected. If your plant arrives damaged or you have concerns about its condition, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include clear photos of the plant and its packaging.
We’ll review the information and work with you to determine the appropriate next step. Please don't discard the plant or packaging until we've had a chance to review your request.
Do you guarantee plants after they are planted?
We want every plant to thrive in its new home, but once a plant has been received in good condition and planted, its continued health and survival depend on many factors outside of our control. These can include planting location, soil conditions, watering, sunlight, weather, temperature, wildlife, and ongoing care.
For these reasons, Lavender Frog Farm & Garden cannot guarantee the survival of a plant after it has been planted. We encourage you to review the plant's individual growing requirements and make sure it is appropriate for your location and growing conditions before planting.
Can I return or exchange a live plant?
Because live plants are perishable products, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges once they have been delivered. If your plant arrives damaged or you have concerns about its condition upon arrival, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can review the situation and work with you on an appropriate resolution.
Please review your plant selection, growing zone, sunlight requirements, mature size, and other growing information carefully before placing your order to make sure the plant is a good fit for your garden.
Can I change or cancel my order after it has been placed?
If you need to change or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request, but once an order has entered processing or shipping, changes or cancellations may no longer be possible.
Because many orders begin processing quickly, contacting us right away gives us the best chance of making a change before your order is on its way.
